You may observe a large diversity of different plant sizes and structures from one vendor to another. These size differences do not necessarily reflect the rose cultivar itself. Much is based on how the rose was produced. These processes are often simplified when we talk about it. We want to bring to light the different methods used in the industry and highlight our path.
What We Love About Our Path
Beginning with the seedling, the transmission of disease is nearly eliminated in the understock through growing Rosa multiflora from seed. The entirety of the process takes place in our fields across all four seasons in our Southern Ontario environment. From understock to grafted plants, the roses are exposed to the elements which makes for strong, resilient plants. By the time your rose reaches you, it has already lived a full and healthy early life under our watchful care for over 2 years. You can simply plant it, step back, and watch it grow. That is exactly how we think it should be.
The purposeful choice of combining the Rosa multiflora seedling along with how the roses are grown makes for hardy, healthy roses. You can read more in our resource Grafted Rose Benefits.
