'AUStiger'

Celebrated for its pleasing formality and upward-facing blooms, this Austin rose adapts beautifully to partial shade and full sun. Queen of Sweden® unfurls medium to large, deeply cupped flowers that transition from soft-apricot pink to pure soft pink, releasing a moderate fragrance of sweet myrrh and subtle fruit. Exceptionally winter hardy, it is ideal for beds and statement plantings. Named to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Commerce between Queen Christina of Sweden and Oliver Cromwell of Great Britain in 1654.

More About Queen of Sweden®

Queen of Sweden® opens from orange-salmon, ovoid buds in small clusters and sometimes in solitaire, revealing medium to large, deeply cupped blooms in romantic light pink with a soft peachy hue. As the very double flowers mature, they form wide, shallow cups with scalloped petal edges, their colour gently paling to pure soft pink. Moderately fragrant with sweet notes layered with myrrh and subtle fruit, these upward-facing blooms bring both elegance and perfume to the garden.

Growing Details

Queen of Sweden® forms an upright shrub reaching 4.5' × 3', thriving in CA Zones 5-6+ | USDA 4-5+ and beyond. Clad in dark green, leathery foliage with a matte finish, this continuous blooming rose adapts well to both full sun and partial shade. Very winter hardy and ideal for beds, statement plantings, and gardens with dappled light.
