'KORmahensi', also known as Flora Olomouc, Kölner Flora

Named to honour the city of Cologne, celebrated both for its magnificent cathedral and its centuries-long history as the birthplace of Eau de Cologne, Flora Colonia™ carries that same tradition of beauty and fragrance into the garden. This shrub rose produces large, very double peony-like blooms in clear medium pink, very fragrant with sweet notes of old rose, rich myrrh, and anise, ideal for statement plantings, beds, borders, hedges, containers, cutting, and pollinator gardens. A multiple fragrance award-winner with healthy, vigorous growth and very winter hardy credentials.

More About Flora Colonia™

Flora Colonia™ unfolds from clear medium pink bulbous buds into large, very double blooms both in small clusters and occasionally in solitary. The deeply cupped flowers open reminiscent of peonies, revealing medium pink petals with soft peachy highlights that soften gradually to a lighter pink with age. Long lasting blooms carry a very fragrant sweet scent with rich myrrh, old rose, and anise, Flora Colonia™ filling the garden with an exceptional and complex fragrance that deepens on warm evenings and lingers long after you have walked away.

Growing Details

An upright and bushy shrub rose reaching 4.5 feet in height and 3 feet in width. Flora Colonia™ is covered in dark green large textured semi-glossy foliage and demonstrates healthy, vigorous growth. Very winter hardy, thriving in CA Zones 5-6+ | USDA 4-5+. Requires full sun and adapts to all soil types. With long lasting blooms that hold their form beautifully, Flora Colonia™ is as rewarding in the vase as it is in the garden, equally at home in statement plantings, beds, borders, hedges, containers, and cutting gardens.
