This vigorous Austin rose is exceptionally winter hardy and heat tolerant. Named in honour of the Duchess of Northumberland and her magnificent gardens at Alnwick Castle.

The Alnwick® Rose unfolds from dark pink bulbous buds into medium to large, very double blooms in large groups. The deeply cupped flowers reveal clear pink petals with peachy centre pending temperatures and darker outer petals, opening with delicate scalloped edges. Moderately fragrant with delightful sweet notes combined with raspberry and old rose, this Austin rose offers appealing aromatic quality as the beautiful cupped blooms develop throughout the season.

Growing Details

A self-cleaning and continuous blooming shrub reaching 4 feet in height and 3 feet in width with an upright, bushy habit. Few thorns make maintenance comfortable. The Alnwick® Rose is clad in dark green semi-glossy foliage. On occasions minor fungal susceptibility possible. Very winter hardy, thriving in CA Zones 5-6+ | USDA 4-5+ and beyond, while also tolerating heat. Requires full sun and adapts to all soil types. Suitable for statement plantings and beds.
