'CA28'

Born from the same breeding legacy as the beloved Canadian Artists series, Canada Blooms was celebrated as the theme rose of the Canada Blooms show in Toronto in March 2014. This hybrid tea rose produces large, very double blooms in medium pink with salmon hues and a lighter reverse, very fragrant with warm honey, raspberry, grapefruit, and fresh tea notes, ideal for statement plantings, beds and borders. Very winter hardy and deeply rooted in Canadian rose breeding heritage.

More About Canada Blooms

Canada Blooms opens from warm pink bulbous buds into large, very double blooms. The long lasting and elegant high-centered flowers open gradually to gently cupped blooms with many layers of reflexed petals, revealing medium pink with salmon hue and a lighter reverse with delicate darker petal edges. The flowers are mostly born in solitary but can be occasionally clustered also. Very fragrant with warm honey notes enlaced with raspberry, a hint of grapefruit, and fresh tea, Canada Blooms rewards every visit to the garden with its rich and complex fragrance as the blooms develop their romantic cupped form.

Growing Details

An upright hybrid tea rose reaching 5 feet in height and 3.5 feet in width. Few thorns make Canada Blooms comfortable to tend. Covered in dark green semi-glossy textured foliage and demonstrating disease resistance. Very winter hardy, thriving in CA Zones 5-6+ | USDA 4-5+. Requires full sun and adapts to all soil types. Bred by Claude Richer, a researcher connected to Canada's legendary cold hardy rose breeding programs, Canada Blooms is at home in statement plantings, beds, borders and cutting gardens.
