May We Introduce You To...
Meet Canada's own rose innovator. Since 1990, Brad Jalbert has been breeding distinctive roses from his British Columbia nursery, Select Roses, creating beautiful flowers as unique as our Canadian landscape. His whimsical varieties feature unique and playful blooms with compact habits perfect for smaller gardens. Jalbert's roses have earned international recognition and are now thriving in gardens across five countries.
We've added a number of new Jalbert varieties to our lineup this season that are worth being excited about!

Rose Societies
For The Love Of Roses

The beauty and love of roses has had a way of bringing people together throughout history. Rose societies trace their roots back to 1876 in the United Kingdom, where the National Rose Society formed with the purpose to be dedicated to the cultivation and appreciation of roses. The idea crossed the Atlantic and groups started in the United States beginning with the Portland Rose society in 1889, followed soon after by the American Rose Society in 1892. They carried forward the vision that the glory of the rose would be perpetuated through the years.
In Canada, rose societies began in 1913 with the creation of the Rose Society of Ontario, located in Toronto. By 1954 the name was changed to the Canadian Rose Society to reflect membership that spanned across the country.
Today, you will find rose societies across the globe uniting local gardeners through a shared love of the rose, education and support. Rose societies have the unique ability to share area-specific rose knowledge. Each and every region across North America is distinct with its own geographic features, microclimates and growing challenges, making your local rose society an incredibly valuable resource!
In addition, their impact reaches further still. Many groups volunteer, lending a hand with garden care in their local public rose gardens, supporting the preservation of rose varieties and keeping these public spaces well maintained for the enjoyment of the community.
Whether you're a lifelong rosarian or just planted your first bush, chances are there's a rose society near you, ready to welcome you in or simply support you in rose growing adventures and learning.

We love connecting with rose societies and are so grateful for all their contributions to rose culture and community.
We will be at the American Rose Society's National Convention, hosted by the Nashville Rose Society in October. If you are attending, please find Jenna and say hello!
