Bred from Charlotte Armstrong, a rose named and dedicated to his wife two decades before. John S. Armstrong is a grandiflora rose producing large, double long lasting blooms in dark velvety red that blues to a rich magenta red with age, lightly fragrant with sweet and fruity notes, ideal for statement plantings, beds, and borders. The high-centered flowers open to flat rosettes with layers of wavy petals revealing pink stamens, in dark velvety red that blues beautifully with age to a rich magenta red.
